Rongate kharhe kar dene wali  kahani thee aap ki...And it is a ture story..Really a thought provoking  write......our men in uniform like you have sacrificed a lot  to keep our freedom safe...Salute to all of them including you...I feel upset when people misuse this  hard earned freedom.....And we have not learnt  lessons  from 62 and now again singing the same song.......yash

Anneshwa,
War is bad, war is dirty, war kills, and it is politicians whims which creates war. Sardar was the man who realised this much before they attacked us but no one paid any heed to his concerns. Read, Had we listened - Part II

Even going away from your actual issue( that you are addressing)....its so scary even just  to read the description of the war...I just wonder how can anyone be there in reality and face it! Hats off to all of them.

Dear Palahali,

this is what Sardar Patel had written in his letter to then PM Jawaherlal Nehru, about China's entry to UN.

"..........The question of China's entry into the UN. In view of the rebuff which China has given us and the method which it has followed in dealing with Tibet, I am doubtful whether we can advocate its claim any longer. There would probably be a threat in the UN virtually to outlaw China, in view of its active participation in the Korean war. We must determine our attitude on this question also....."

after reading this, I tend to believe Shashi Tharoor on the subject.

Your article is interesting. ON hindsight there should have been a good mix of Nehru And Patel in the policies. It would have bben a good team. However, about US giving seat to India, pl note tht there are several things US offered at that time. But there were always strings - hidden and not so hidden. For eg; It seems they said they will build all the roads in India. But the cavaet was that    AMerican automobile factories to be set up in India. A newluy independent country did nto want to be compromised in these ways. Thanks
