Are we (India) really a nation impotent?

Many feels that we are impotent nation. USA did not have a single terror attack on it's soil after 9/11. We took 14 years to send perpetrators of Mumbai Blast in jail, that too under TADA, elder brother of POTA which was scrapped by UPA government immediately after they acquired power, as if they are giving a gift to the nation.

Most respectable news papers like Times of India in its front page view said that "As a nation, we are impotent when it comes to tackling terror" We means who?? certainly not you and me, but those in the government and who have the responsibility to run the nation and look after it's law and order are certainly seems impotent.

You and me i.e aam Janta have only one power, the power to vote. We have voted them in, We are so much impressed by few screen personalities that we vote for film actors like Govina, who is never seen in his constituency when required. Similaraly we vote for bhais, criminals, and we also vote for unknown faces just in the name of the party they represent.

We have no dearth of parties, USA has only two, Republican party stood behind Bush firmly when he announced attack on Iraq and war on terrorism. Our leaders can not even attack Bangla Desh, where planning of terror acts takes place according to the Congress CM of Andhra.

USA and UK have only two parties, we have......hundreds. They have only Bush and Cheney and Clinton and Mrs. Clinton and Barack Obama,

We have Sonia, Maya, Jaya, Mamta, Mulayam, Laloo, Advani, Sharad Pawar, Ram Vilas Pawan, Karunanidhi, Manohar Joshi, Farooq Abdullah, Chandrababu Naidu, Prakash Karat, Bardhan, etc. etc., the list is endless, and we call them our saviours. our keepers of law and order and safety. The result is there for every one to see, loss of OUR lives, innocent lives, lives of OUR kids and sisters and brothers in endless terror attack. Each attack are done meticulously, and we can not bring the perpetrators of the attack to the book, If we bring them to book, we take minimum 12 to 14 years to pass a judgement on them, by the time an entire new generation of Indians is born, they are given senctence. and even after getting sentence, there is lack of political will to implement that sentence. yes, I am hinting at Afzal Guru.

If Afzal Guru had been hanged by now, Irashad Khan of Mumbai would not have died in Hyderabad blast, because, the blasts would never have occured.

Will "Marathi" Presidint Pratibha Patil sign the death sentence of AG at-least now?

So, Who is impotent? We or our rulers, our keepers and our judicial system? We hear same statements from politicians, only faces change, statements remain the same, few standard statements like, "We condemn the killers", "This is an act of cowardice" "We appeal to the people to keep peace" "My people have the courage to face this" "We are one, and will show the solidarity".

Yes, our rulers are cowards, not we, our rulers are impotent, not we. We do not have the power to protect ourselves, we have only vote. they have the power. the power to take the terrorists to Kandahar in a chartered plane and release them. The power to postpone hanging of terrorists like Afzal Guru indefinitely. The power to protect them with all their political might and the power to guard their interests here, even if they are hiding in a foreign country. and power to discard any sort of political will to keep our streets safe from act of terror.

We are getting killed in the process, please do not accuse us of being impotent, for we are not. Our home minister was the great Sardar Patel at one time, now Mr. Shivraj Patil. Our Prime Minister was the Great Nehru, Indira and Shashtriji, now we have Gowdas, and Gujrals and Singhs. We had Congress Presidents like Subhash Bose, Motilal Nehru, Pandit Nehru, and Indira Gandhi. now SoniaG.

and on the top of everything we have our Reds, who display the courage to say "STOP" to any act of the beleaguered government, whatever minute will it shows for the good of the nation.

Please step down sir, if you can not protect our lives. We are capable of showing our potent.
